Spirulina is a green-blue micro algae with high nutrition values and low environmental impact, defined by FAO as “food of the future”

Spirulina is vegetable food containing:

  • the higest percentage of proteins 60-65% and in particular of essential amino acids;
  • minerals like iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, and selenium;
  • vitamin A and group B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B12) folic acid, inositol, panthotenic acid, vitamin C, E, H, K;

Spirulina is rich of pigments like phycocyanin (anti-oxidant), lutein, beta carotene. Does not contain iodine.

Spirulina does not cause pollution and through the photosynthesis process contributes to GHG greenhouse gases abatement, capturing CO2. It also does not cause soil erosion, water contamination or forest destruction, does not require the use of toxic pesticides and herbicides.

Spirulina requires much less water and energy per kg of protein than any other food, including solar energy and that generated.

 

To grow Spirulina is necessary:
  • 1/3 of the water used by the soybean,
  • 1/6 of the water used for wheat,
  • 1/50 of the water needed for the beef proteins.
Spirulina K is low-calorie, and cholesterol free. Spirulina K contains only 5% fat, opposed to animal protein.
Spirulina contains vegetable protein and is rich in vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. It maintains the right level of blood sugar, is anti-oxidant, helps the immune system, promotes concentration, purifies and strengthens the body.
